Role Overview:

As an Excavation Specialist at JJ Builders, you will play a crucial role in preparing construction sites for various projects.

Your expertise in excavation and earthmoving will ensure that groundwork is laid effectively, setting the stage for successful construction endeavors.

Responsibilities:

1. Site Preparation: Assess construction sites and develop excavation plans in coordination with project managers and engineers. Clear vegetation, debris, and obstacles as needed to prepare the site for excavation.

2. Excavation Work: Operate heavy machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, and backhoes, to perform excavation and earthmoving tasks according to project specifications and safety standards.

3. Trenching and Grading: Dig trenches for utilities, foundations, and drainage systems, ensuring accurate depths and alignments. Grade and level the terrain to establish the desired contours and slopes.

4. Utility Installation: Assist in the installation of underground utilities, such as water lines, sewer lines, and electrical conduits, in coordination with utility contractors and project teams.

5. Erosion Control: Implement erosion control measures to prevent soil erosion and sediment runoff during excavation activities. Install erosion control blankets, silt fences, and other erosion control devices as necessary.

6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on-site, including the proper operation and maintenance of heavy machinery and equipment. Conduct pre-operational checks and inspections to ensure equipment readiness and safety.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in excavation and earthmoving operations.
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
• Knowledge of excavation techniques, soil types, and erosion control methods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
